Jonas Fjeld
Jonas Fjeld (born Terje Lillegård Jensen; 24 September 1952) is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He is best known in the English-speaking world for two albums recorded by Danko/Fjeld/Andersen, a collaboration with Canadian Rick Danko of The Band and American singer-songwriter Eric Andersen. Fjeld also recorded three albums with the American bluegrass group Chatham County Line. Biography Fjeld took his stage name from the principal character of a series of novels written by Øvre Richter Frich. Although he was born in Bodø, he moved with his family to Drammen, Norway when he was a child. Fjeld's first recording contract was with the Jonas Fjeld Rock 'n' Rolf Band, a comedy band which included Herodes Falsk, in 1972. He switched to acoustic folk after listening to Eric Andersen's album Blue River. His first solo album, ', was released in 1975. Bodø (; smj, Bådåddjo, sv, Bodö) is a municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Salten. ''Winter Stories'' is an album by American singer Judy Collins and Norwegian musician Jonas Fjeld backed by American blugrass group Chatham County Line. It was released on November 29, 2019 on the Cleopatra label and reached number one on the ''Billboard'' Top Bluegrass Albums chart, becoming the 80-year-old Collins' first ever American number one album on any chart, as well as the first for Fjeld and the third for Chatham County Line. Background and recording Although the lead artists were tangentially aware of one another (Collins recorded Fjeld's " Angels in the Snow" for her 2014 album ''Christmas with Judy Collins''), they had never worked together. Ridin' On The Blinds
''Ridin' on the Blinds'' was the second and final album by the folk-rock trio of Rick Danko, Jonas Fjeld and Eric Andersen. Released in 1994, it was different from its predecessor in that its focus was rootsier, influenced more by the folk leanings of the group than their rock leanings. Among the tracks are tributes to Paul Butterfield ("Every Man Is His Own Hero") and Richard Manuel ("All Creation"), definitive readings of The Band's "Twilight" and Tom Paxton's "Bottle of Wine" and a duet between Andersen and guest vocalist Kirsten Berg on Richard Thompson's "Dimming of the Day". Work was planned for a third trio album three years later when Rick Danko's arrest for drug possession put these plans on hold temporarily. Two years later, with Rick Danko's December 1999 death, these plans were put permanently to rest. Rockheim Hall Of Fame
Rockheim (also called ''Det nasjonale opplevelsessenteret for pop og rock'', The National Discovery Centre for Pop and Rock, and ''Det nasjonale museet for populærmusikk'', The National Museum for Popular Music) is Norway's national museum for popular music from the 1950s to the present. It is a division of Museene i Sør-Trøndelag (Sør-Trøndelag Museums) and is housed in a former grain warehouse in Trondheim. It opened in 2010; since 2013, the director has been Sissel Guttormsen. The museum also has a virtual presence, ''Virtuelle Rockheim'', which launched in 2009, and since 2011 musicians and groups have been chosen for the Rockheim Hall of Fame.
