Jonah Elliss
Jonah Elliss (born April 3, 2003) is an American football linebacker for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Utah Utes. He is the son of former Detroit Lions defensive tackle Luther Elliss and has three brothers that also play football: Kaden, Christian, and Noah. Early life and high school Elliss grew up in Moscow, Idaho and attended Moscow High School. He was named the Inland Empire League Player of the Year as a senior. Elliss was rated a three-star recruit and committed to play college football at Utah. College career Elliss played in all 14 of the Utah Utes games during his freshman season and recorded 15 tackles. He was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 Conference after recording 26 tackles with six tackles for loss and three sacks as a sophomore. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage).
