Jon Thorup is an American politician and law enforcement officer who served as a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from the 28th district. Elected in November 2018, he assumed office on January 14, 2019. Early life and education Thorup was born and raised in Knoxville, Iowa. He graduated from Knoxville High School. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. Career After graduating from high school, Thorup worked for the Marion County Sheriff's Department as a part-time employee. Kimberly Kay Reynolds (née Strawn; born August 4, 1959) is an American politician serving as the 43rd governor of Iowa since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, Reynolds served as the 46th lieutenant governor of Iowa from 2011 to 2017. Before she was elected lieutenant governor, Reynolds served four terms as Clarke County treasurer and then served in the Iowa Senate from 2009 to 2010.
