Jon Peterson was a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 2nd District from 1999 to 2008. Peterson served as Delaware County Auditor, and also Delaware County Treasurer. In 2020, a memorial plaza in Delaware was named in his honor. Kris Jordan
Kristopher W. Jordan (February 10, 1977 – February 25, 2023) was an American politician in the Republican Party. He was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2019 until his death (after a previous term from 2009 to 2010), and the Ohio Senate from 2011 to 2019, where he was chairman of the Senate State and Local Government and Veterans Affairs Committee. Career After graduation from the Ohio State University, Jordan served two terms as a Delaware County commissioner and worked for Rep. Joan Lawrence and as a legislative aide to Rep. Jon Peterson. Jordan was a member of the Delaware County Farm Bureau, Hiram Masonic Lodge, the Delaware County Township Association and the County Commissioner Association of Ohio. The Republican Party, also referred to as the GOP ("Grand Old Party"), is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States. The GOP was founded in 1854 by anti-slavery activists who opposed the Kansas–Nebraska Act, which allowed for the potential expansion of chattel slavery into the western territories. Since Ronald Reagan's presidency in the 1980s, conservatism has been the dominant ideology of the GOP. It has been the main political rival of the Democratic Party since the mid-1850s. The Republican Party's intellectual predecessor is considered to be Northern members of the Whig Party, with Republican presidents Abraham Lincoln, Rutherford B. Hayes, Chester A. Ohio House Of Representatives
The Ohio House of Representatives is the lower house of the Ohio General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Ohio; the other house of the bicameral legislature being the Ohio Senate. The House of Representatives first met in Chillicothe on March 3, 1803, under the later superseded state constitution of that year. In 1816, the capital was moved to Columbus, where it is located today. Members are limited to four successive two-year elected terms (terms are considered successive if they are separated by less than four years). Time served by appointment to fill out another representative's uncompleted term does not count against the term limit. There are 99 members in the house, elected from single-member districts. Delaware County is a county located in the central portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. It is a frequent placeholder on the List of highest-income counties in the United States. WBNS-TV (channel 10) is a television station in Columbus, Ohio, United States, affiliated with CBS. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside the company's sole radio properties, WBNS (1460 AM) and WBNS-FM (97.1).
