Jon Jørundson Mannsåker
Jon Jørundson Mannsåker (28 September 1880 – 28 February 1964) was a Norwegian priest and politician for the Liberal Party. Biography He was born at Odda in Hordaland, Norway. He took an education in theology. He was the headmaster of Hardanger folk high school (''Hardanger folkehøgskule'') from 1912 to 1928, and at the same time an auxiliary priest in Ullensvang from 1914. In 1928 he became a curate in Voss. In 1933 he moved permanently to Oslo to become a curate there. From 1940 to 1950 he served as vicar. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1927 and 1930, representing the constituency Hordaland and the Liberal Party. He was a deputy representative to the Norwegian Parliament during the term 1954–1957. He was a minor ballot candidate in the 1957 election. He was married to Anna Erika Stueland (1881–1966). Liberal Party Of Norway
The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party. The party has nevertheless participated in several centrist and centre-right government coalitions in the postwar era. Bergfrid Fjose
Bergfrid Fjose (31 March 1915 – 13 May 2004) was a Norwegian politician for the Christian Democratic Party. She was born in Ullensvang as the daughter of priest and politician Jon Mannsåker; her brother was the historian Dagfinn Mannsåker. She enrolled as a student in 1935, took the teacher's examination in 1938 and worked as a teacher at Valdres folk high school from 1938 to 1943. From 1943 to 1945 she was a refugee in Sweden due to the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. From 1947 to 1949 she worked in Kvam. She was elected to the municipal council there, serving from 1951 to 1952. She then worked in Voss from 1952 to 1957, and in Årdal from 1959 to 1967. She was member of Årdal municipal council from 1959 to 1963 and Fana municipal council from 1967 to 1971. From 1968 to 1969 she chaired the local party chapter. Dagfinn Mannsåker (30 June 1916 – 16 July 1994) was a Norwegian archivist and historian. He was born at Ullensvang in Hordaland, Norway. He was the brother of Bergfrid Fjose. He took the dr.philos. degree in 1955, on the thesis ''Det norske presteskapet i det nittande hundreåret. Sosialhistoriske studiar''. He worked as a school teacher from 1954 to 1959, lecturer at the University of Oslo from 1959 to 1965 and National archivist of Norway, national archivist from 1965 to 1982. Odda
Odda () is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1913 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was merged into Ullensvang Municipality in Vestland county. It was located in southeastern Hordaland county, surrounding the southern end of the Sørfjorden. The administrative centre was the town of Odda, which was also the main commercial and economic centre of the entire Hardanger region. Other villages in the municipality included Botnen, Eitrheim, Håra, Røldal, Seljestad, Skare, and Tyssedal. Prior to its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 42nd largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway.
