Jonathan Howsmon Davis (born January 18, 1971), also known as JD or JDevil, is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist and frontman of nu metal band Korn, who are considered a pioneering act of the nu metal genre. Davis' distinctive personality and Korn's music influenced a generation of musicians and performers who have come after them. Davis co-founded Korn in Los Angeles in 1993 with the dissolution of two bands, Sexart and L.A.P.D. He had led Sexart during his years as an assistant coroner. Davis rapidly gained notoriety for his intense and powerful live performances with Korn. Anchored by his personal, passionate lyrics and unusual tenor vocals, Davis launched a successful career which has spanned almost three decades, although his popularity declined in the middle of the 2000s. Jon Davis (born 1952) is an American poet. Biography Davis was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and received a B.A. in English and an M.F.A. in creative writing from the University of Montana, where he was editor of the literary journal ''CutBank''. He has served as writing program coordinator for the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, edited the literary journals ''Shankpainter'' and ''Countermeasures: A Magazine of Poetry & Ideas'', and taught at the University of Montana, College of Santa Fe (now Santa Fe University of Art and Design), and Salisbury State University. He is currently a professor at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jon Davis is the author of five chapbooks and six full-length collections of poetry. Jonathan Davis is an American professional wrestler, working for independent promotions including Dragon Gate USA, Full Impact Pro, and Evolve. Davis is a two-time former NWA World Tag Team Champion and a former NWA Florida Tag Team Champion as part of The Dark City Fight Club with Kory Chavis. Professional wrestling career Davis was trained by Chris Turner and Dory Funk, Jr., and made his professional wrestling debut on June 23, 2003. In late 2005, Davis began wrestling for Funk's !Bang! promotion, where he feuded with Blain Rage. The pair exchanged victories on several occasions, before Rage defeated Davis on May 28, 2006, to end the feud. Jonathan Renard Davis (born November 8, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for Juventus Utena of the Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). He played college basketball for the Charlotte 49ers of Conference USA. He plays the point guard position. College career As a sophomore, he was named to the Second Team All-Conference USA. He averaged 19.6 points per game, second best in the conference, and 4.2 assists per game. He shot 48.2 percent on field goals and 38.0 percent for 3-pointers.
