Jon Connolly
Jon Connolly (born 3 April 1981) is a Scottish football goalkeeper and is currently the goalkeeping coach at Annan Athletic. Connolly has previously played in the Scottish Premier League for Motherwell. Career Connolly began his senior career in the Academy system at Ipswich Town but returned to Scotland to sign for Albion Rovers in February 1998, making eight league appearances in the Scottish Football League Third Division before the end of the season. After leaving Rovers, he dropped to Junior level with Thorniewood United before being signed by manager Billy Davies for Motherwell in the summer of 2000. With Motherwell releasing a number of high-earning first team players including Andy Goram, Connolly found himself as second choice keeper at Fir Park behind Stevie Woods. Stevie Woods (footballer)
Stephen Gerard Woods (born 23 February 1970) is a Scottish football coach who currently works as a goalkeeping coach for Celtic. Woods played as a goalkeeper for Hibernian, Clydebank, Preston North End, Motherwell and St Mirren. After retiring as a player in 2005, Woods worked as the goalkeeping coach for Livingston and Dunfermline Athletic. He was appointed to a full-time coaching position with Celtic in 2007. Andy Goram
Andrew Lewis Goram (13 April 1964 – 2 July 2022) was a Scottish footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in Bury, Lancashire, England, he started his career with Oldham Athletic and Hibernian, but he is best remembered for playing for Rangers during the 1990s, when he earned the nickname "The Goalie". In a 2001 poll of Rangers fans, Goram was voted Rangers' greatest-ever goalkeeper. Goram appeared in 43 international matches for Scotland and was selected for their squads at the 1986 and 1990 World Cups, UEFA Euro 1992 and UEFA Euro 1996. After his time with Rangers, Goram played for many clubs, most notably at Motherwell and a brief loan spell at Manchester United. Billy Davies
William McIntosh Davies (born 31 May 1964) is a Scottish former professional footballer and manager. He won the 2007 Play-offs with Derby County, finished as runners-up in 2005 with Preston North End, and reached the semi-finals in 2006 (Preston), 2010 and 2011 (both with Nottingham Forest). Playing career As a schoolboy, Davies was associated with Manchester United and he was offered a contract by then manager Dave Sexton. Davies started his professional playing career at the Scottish club Rangers. Scottish Junior Football Association
The Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) is an affiliated national association of the Scottish Football Association and is the governing body for the junior grade of football in Scotland. The term "junior" refers to the level of football played, not the age of the players. The closest equivalent terminology would be non-League football in England, the difference being that junior football in Scotland was not similarly integrated into its football league system until 2021. The Scottish Football League Third Division was the fourth tier of the Scottish football league system between 1994 and 2013. History The Scottish football league system had operated with three divisions in the Scottish Football League (SFL) from 1975. In 1994, as part of reconstruction to allow the admission of Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Ross County to the league, the SFL was recalibrated to give four divisions of 10 teams.
