Joke Kersten
Johanna Wilhelmina (Joke) Kersten (11 April 1944 – 6 August 2020) was a Dutch politician. She served as member of the House of Representatives for the Labour Party from 4 September 1990 to 17 May 1994. She was mayor of Grubbenvorst and Broekhoven between 1995 and 2001. Later Kersten was acting mayor of Arcen en Velden, Bergeijk and Asten. She served as mayor of Uden Uden () is a town and former municipality in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. Grubbenvorst ( li, Grevors) is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is located in the municipality of Horst aan de Maas, about 6 km northwest of Venlo. History The village was first mentioned in 1207 as Vurste, and means "not fenced-off forest near Grubben Castle". Grubben has been added to distinguish from Broekhuizenvorst. Grubbenvorst developed on the Maas in the Early Middle Ages. It used to be part of the . In 1323, it became part of the Duchy of Guelders. In 1648, it became part of the Spanish Netherlands. Asten () is a municipality and a town in the southern Netherlands. It is home to the Royal Eijsbouts bell foundry and also a carillon museum. Uden
Uden () is a town and former municipality in the province of North Brabant, Netherlands. Since 2022 it has been part of the new municipality of Maashorst. History Uden was first recorded around 1190 as "Uthen". However, earlier settlements have been found in the areas of the modern day Moleneind, Vorstenburg and Bitswijk and evidence of Ice Age settlements has been found near the hamlet of Slabroek. From 1324 Uden was ruled by the Valkenburg house and became a part of the . After 1397 it became a part of the German duchy of Cleves. Uden was hardly affected by the Eighty Years' War and gained religious freedom in 1631.
