Harnett County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 133,568. Its county seat is Lillington; its largest city is Dunn. Harnett County is part of the Fayetteville Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Harnett County was formed in 1855 from land given by Cumberland County. The Colonial Revival architectural style seeks to revive elements of American colonial architecture.
