Johnny Mundt
John Christian Mundt (born November 23, 1994) is an American football tight end for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Oregon. Professional career Los Angeles Rams Mundt signed with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2017. Mundt had a solid preseason competing with fellow rookie Travis Wilson for the team's possible third tight end spot behind Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett. He was waived by the Rams on September 3, 2017, and was re-signed to the practice squad. He was promoted to the active roster on November 11, 2017. He was waived by the Rams on November 21, 2017, and was re-signed to the practice squad. He signed a reserve/future contract with the Rams on January 8, 2018. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. Frequently used in gridiron football, they serve as extra players during the team's practices, often as part of the scout team by emulating an upcoming opponent's play style.
