Johnny Lunde
Johnny Anker Lunde (26 October 1923 – 2 April 2013) was a Norwegian alpine skier and engineer. He was born in Nore, and represented the club Konnerud IL. He participated at the 1948 Winter Olympics in Saint Moritz, and at the 1952 Winter Olympics in Oslo. He did not finish the downhill race in 1948, but finished a tied 20th in downhill in 1952. In 1949 he won the downhill competition which was part of the alpine combined in the Norwegian championship. He graduated as a construction engineer from ETH Zurich in 1949. After working in construction from 1950 to 1958 he spent his career in the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute until 1990, working with geomechanics. He resided in Sandvika. He was a grandfather of snowboarder Line Østvold. Nore, Norway
Nore is a village in the municipality of Nore og Uvdal in the county of Buskerud, Norway. It is located in the traditional region of Numedal. History From 1837 the area was part of Rollag District. Nore was a municipality of its own from 1858 to 1961. It was merged with Uvdal on 1 January 1962. Prior to the merger Nore municipality had a population of 1,975. Norefjord is the center of the Nore. There is Numedal Hall, Numedal high school, Nore school and community center. During the summer months there is an open exhibition at the former residence of glass artist, Oddmund Kristiansen (1920-1997). During the final twenty years of his life, the renowned glass artist used his house as a workshop and studio. ''Budstikka'' (The Bidding Stick), prior to 2004 known as ''Asker og Bærum Budstikke'', is a daily local newspaper published out of Billingstad in Asker, Norway. It covers the municipalities of Asker and Bærum, and is the only newspaper issued in the area. History The newspaper was founded in 1898 by book printer Jørgen Chr. Kanitz. Its political alignment was with the Conservative Party. Today it claims an "independent conservative" editorial orientation. It launched its internet edition in 2000, changed to tabloid format in 2002, and changed the name to ''Budstikka'' in 2004.
