Johnny Jarrett
John Trevor Patten (born 13 June 1936), known professionally as Johnny Jarrett, is an Australian Aboriginal elder and community leader, former professional rugby league footballer and professional boxer. Biography John Patten was born in 1936 to John Thomas Patten and Selina Patten, née Avery at Sydney in New South Wales and is a descendant of the Yorta Yorta and Bundjalung peoples. A member of the Stolen Generations, as an infant Patten was taken from his parents at Grafton in northern New South Wales and placed at Bomaderry Aboriginal Children's Home in the south of the state. Following this removal Patten was located by his father and the pair fled from New South Wales, to the safety of Barmah in Victoria, near his father's family at Cummeragunja. Yamba, New South Wales
Yamba is a town in northern New South Wales, Australia at the mouth of the Clarence River. The first European to visit the area was Matthew Flinders, who stopped in Yamba Bay for six days in July 1799. The town economy is strongly based on fishing and tourism, but has a diverse range of influences, due to the 'Sea Change' phenomenon and the large number of baby boomers who are starting to retire to the warmer climates. At the , Yamba had a population of 6,043, but as a popular tourist destination, it can triple its population in the holiday period. Thomas Vincent Dunlea (19 April 1894 – 22 August 1970) was an Irish-Australian Catholic priest known for his involvement in charitable works. Early life Dunlea was born in Ballina, County Tipperary, Ballina, Ireland, to Michael and Bridget Dunlea. He attended primary school in Killaloe, County Clare, Killaloe and High School at Mount St. Joseph Abbey, Roscrea, Mount St Joseph’s Monastery in Roscrea.
