Johnny Brewer
Johnny Lee Brewer (March 8, 1937 – May 27, 2011) was an American football tight end and linebacker in the NFL for the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints. He played college football at the University of Mississippi. Brewer was a fourth round selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 1960 NFL Draft, and was also selected by the Minneapolis AFL teamof the newly-formed American Football League. The Browns also selected Ole Miss teammates Bobby Franklin in the eleventh round and Robert Khayat in the sixth round. He was a member of the Browns teams that won the NFL championship in 1964 over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts and the 1965 Eastern Conference championship team that lost the title game to the Green Bay Packers. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Robert Khayat
Robert Conrad Khayat (born April 18, 1938) was the 15th Chancellor of the University of Mississippi. He also played American football as a placekicker, guard, and center for Ole Miss and in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins during the 1960, 1962 and 1963 seasons. He was appointed Chancellor in 1995. Early years Khayat was born in Moss Point, Mississippi, to Lebanese parents. He attended Moss Point High School and the University of Mississippi. He received both bachelor of arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Mississippi. He also played football for the Ole Miss Rebels football team from 1957 to 1959. Joseph Willie "Turkey" Jones (born January 7, 1948) is a former American football defensive end who spent eleven seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland Browns (1970–1973; 1975–1978), Philadelphia Eagles (1974–1975) and Washington Commanders, Washington Redskins (1979–1980). Turkey nickname Per Jones' daughter, Leone Jones Hopewell, he did earn his "Turkey" nickname just before Thanksgiving during his rookie season with the Browns in 1970. The veterans on the team pulled a prank on the rookies by sending them off to distant farms to get nonexistent "free domestic turkey, turkeys" for the holiday. Jones continued his futile search for hours, long after his fellow rookies had abandoned theirs. He fell for the same prank again the following year. Milt Morin
Milton Denis Morin (October 15, 1942 – July 9, 2010) was a professional American football tight end in the National Football League. Morin attended St. Bernard's High School in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, where he held records in track and field and was elected co-captain of the football team. He also attended Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH before college. After college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, University of Massachusetts, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, he played for the Cleveland Browns for ten seasons (1966–1975). Morin was drafted in the first round of the 1966 NFL Draft, the first-ever UMass first-round draft pick. He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 1969 Pro Bowl, 1968 and 1972 Pro Bowl, 1971.
