Johnny Bivouac
John Beckett (born 1958) is an English musician, actor and record producer. He is best known for being a former guitarist of Adam and the Ants under the name Johnny Bivouac, during which time he recorded the track " Deutscher Girls" with the band, later a UK Top 15 hit single. As an actor, he is best known for the role of Strings in the police sitcom ''Operation Good Guys''. Adam and the Ants and other bands In June 1977, Beckett was guitarist in the band Desolation Angels when their drummer, David Barbarossa was recruited away from the group by a recently formed punk band, The Ants, who had supported them at a concert in Chelsea that month. Four months later, after the Ants sacked their guitarist Mark Ryan, Beckett was recruited as his replacement and took the stagename Johnny Bivouac. Adam And The Ants
Adam and the Ants were an English rock band formed in London in 1977. The group existed in two incarnations, both fronted by Adam Ant, over the period 1977 to 1982. The first, founded in May 1977 and known simply as The Ants until November of that year, transitioned from the punk rock to the post-punk and new wave era and released one album. The final line-up of this incarnation—Dave Barbarossa, Matthew Ashman, and Leigh Gorman—left the band in January 1980 at the suggestion of manager Malcolm McLaren to form Bow Wow Wow. The second incarnation of Adam and the Ants featured guitarist Marco Pirroni and drummer/producer Chris Hughes, and was noted for its use of Burundi drums. ''Love, Honour and Obey'' is a 2000 mock gangster film starring several members of the Primrose Hill set. It was jointly written and directed by Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis (who also appear in the film) as a follow-up to their 1998 film '' Final Cut''. As with ''Final Cut'', most of the characters have the same name as the actors who play them. The film also features a cameo appearance from former East London boxer turned comedian, Ricky Grover. Synopsis Jonny (Jonny Lee Miller) is working as a courier and becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his life. ''Final Cut'' is a film released in 1998, jointly written and directed by Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis (who also appear in the film). It features several actors from the Primrose Hill set. It was nominated for the Golden Hitchcock at the 1999 Dinard Festival of British Cinema. All the characters (except Tony, played by Perry Benson) in this film share their forename with the actors who play them, a gimmick used in the directors' later film ''Love, Honour and Obey''.
