Johnny Bailey (American Football)
Johnny Lee Bailey (March 17, 1967 – August 20, 2010) was an American football running back in the National Football League (NFL). He was also a part of Houston's Yates High School football team when it won the 1985 5A state championship. Career Bailey was drafted in the ninth round out of Texas A&I University (now named Texas A&M University–Kingsville) in the 1990 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. While at Texas A&I, Bailey was the first, and so far only, player to be a three-time winner of the Harlon Hill Trophy, which is given to the best player in Division II college football. He played for the Bears for two years before going on to the Arizona Cardinals for two years, as well as playing for the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams. During his NFL career he played in 81 games and scored nine touchdowns. Death Bailey died on August 20, 2010, of pancreatic cancer. A running back (RB) is a member of the offensive backfield in gridiron football. The primary roles of a running back are to receive American football plays#Offensive terminology, handoffs from the quarterback to Rush (American football)#Offense, rush the ball, to line up as a receiver to catch the ball, and Blocking (American football), block. There are usually one or two running backs on the field for a given play, depending on the offensive formation. 1990 NFL Draft
The 1990 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 22–23, 1990, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. The Dallas Cowboys would have had the first overall pick in the draft for the second consecutive year by virtue of their league-worst 1–15 record in 1989. However, the Cowboys forfeited their first-round pick by selecting quarterback Steve Walsh in the first round of the previous year's supplemental draft. Pearland ( ) is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, within Brazoria County, with portions extending into Fort Bend and Harris counties. Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer arises when cell (biology), cells in the pancreas, a glandular organ behind the stomach, begin to multiply out of control and form a Neoplasm, mass. These cancerous cells have the malignant, ability to invade other parts of the body. A number of types of pancreatic cancer are known. The most common, pancreatic adenocarcinoma, accounts for about 90% of cases, and the term "pancreatic cancer" is sometimes used to refer only to that type. These adenocarcinomas start within the part of the pancreas that makes digestive enzymes.
