Johnathan Rand
Christopher Wright, born November 24, 1964 in Pontiac, Michigan, is the author of dozens of horror fiction books for children and young adults. He writes under the pseudonyms Johnathan Rand and Christopher Knight. Almost all of Wright's books (except American Chillers) take place in his home state of Michigan. Biography Wright grew up in Waterford Michigan, until his family moved to Grayling after his 4th Grade year of school. He lived for a short time in Houghton Lake before moving to Petoskey for six years, then to a little cabin in the woods outside of Cheboygan before moving to Topinabee (about 25 miles directly south of the Mackinac Bridge) with his wife and three dogs named "Scooby-Boo" "Lily Munster" and "Spooky Dude." In 2007, Wright became involved in exposing a case of animal cruelty, and documented the case on a website called "Thor's Warriors", a website that shows hidden animal abuse and cruelty cases to the public. Pontiac ( ') is a city in and the county seat of Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 61,606. A northern suburb of Metro Detroit, Pontiac is about northwest of Detroit. Founded in 1818, Pontiac was the second European-American organized settlement in Michigan near Detroit, after Dearborn. The novel depicts a scenario in which bird flu mutates and becomes a global epidemic because of modern transportation methods, eventually causing a universal state of emergency. Plot The disease that causes a world-wide catastrophe in the novel is H5N1, a strain of bird flu that was in the news at the time of publication. Its mutation and rapid spread eventually causes the collapse of society and many economies across the world. Indian River is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Cheboygan County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,950 at the 2020 census. The CDP is located in Tuscarora Township between Burt Lake and Mullett Lake. As an unincorporated community, Indian River has no legal automony of its own but does have its own post office with the 49749 ZIP Code, which also serves small portions of several surrouding townships. History The area of Indian River was first settled as early as 1876. The community was founded two years later by land owner Floyd Martin and surveyed and platted by Oliver Hayden by 1880.
