John Williams Ntwali
John Williams Ntwali (7 June 1979 – 18 January 2023) was a Rwandan investigative journalist. The founder of the YouTube news channel PAX TV – IREME News and editor of the independent newspaper ''The Chronicles'', he often reported on human rights stories, and was critical of the Rwandan government. Having spoken previously about being threatened due to his journalism, on 17 January 2023, Ntwali was officially identified as being the victim of a road accident that had occurred the previous day; numerous human rights organisations and press associations have disputed this account and called for an investigation into whether he was murdered. Thulani Maseko
Thulani Rudolf Maseko (1 March 1970 – 21 January 2023) was a Swazi human rights lawyer who was imprisoned from 2014 to 2015, and declared a prisoner of conscience by Amnesty International. He launched a court challenge to King Mswati III of Eswatini in 2018 and was assassinated in 2023. He was a member of the People's United Democratic Movement (Pudemo). Early life and education Maseko was born at Luhleko, near Bhunya in Swaziland's Manzini Region on 1 March 1970. He attended the University of Swaziland, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Law in 1994 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1997. In 2011, he earned a Master in International Legal Studies from the American University's Washington College of Law. Later life Maseko was a democracy advocate, and a human rights lawyer noted for his efforts to protect minority groups and people who had been evicted from their homes. Arsène Salomon Mbani Zogo (22 September 1972 – 17 January 2023), better known as Martinez Zogo, was a Cameroonian journalist and radio presenter known for his radio show ''Embouteillage'', which reported upon government corruption in Cameroon. Kizito Mihigo (25 July 1981 – 17 February 2020) was a Rwandan gospel singer, songwriter, organist, composer of sacred music, television presenter, genocide survivor, peace maker and peace and reconciliation activist. Kizito was an iconic activist who dedicated his life to healing the souls of his fellow genocide survivors and rebuilding unity and reconciliation in Rwanda.
