John Uzzell
John Edward Uzzell (born 31 March 1959) is an English retired footballer who played as a full-back. Uzzell spent the majority of his playing career with hometown club Plymouth Argyle, between July 1977 and April 1989. He also played for Torquay United, between 1989 and 1992, before moving into coaching. In later life, he also worked as a postman. On 14 December 1991, while playing in a Third Division game for Torquay United at Plainmoor, he suffered a fractured cheekbone and eye socket in a collision with Brentford striker Gary Blissett, who was subsequently charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Plainmoor is an association football stadium located in the Plainmoor suburb of Torquay, Devon, England. Since 1921, the stadium has been the home of Torquay United Football Club, who currently compete in the National League, the fifth tier of English football. Gary Blissett
Gary Blissett (born 29 June 1964) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward. He notably played in the Premier League for Wimbledon, and in the Football League for Crewe Alexandra, Brentford and Wycombe Wanderers. He finished his career in Singapore and Germany with Sembawang Rangers and SV Elversberg respectively. Career Blissett scored over 100 league goals for Crewe Alexandra and Brentford. He picked up a Third Division title medal with Brentford in 1992.
