John Charles Peace Thompson (14 April 1870 – 31 December 1945) was an English cricketer. Thompson's batting style is unknown. He was born at Chester, Cheshire. Thompson made a single first-class appearance for Liverpool and District against Yorkshire in 1892 at Aigburth Cricket Ground, Liverpool. In a match which Liverpool and District won by 6 wickets, Thompson batted once, scoring 14 runs in Liverpool and District's first-innings before he was dismissed by Thomas Wardall. He died at Tarset Tarset is a civil parish in Northumberland, England, created in 1955 from parts of Bellingham, Tarset West and Thorneyburn parishes. It is west-north-west of Bellingham. __NOTOC__ Aigburth Cricket Ground in Liverpool, England, is the home of Liverpool Cricket Club. The club was founded in 1807 and is the oldest amateur sports club in Merseyside. The ground hosted its maiden first-class cricket match in 1881, a fixture between Lancashire and Cambridge University. The ground was kept by the former first-class cricketer George Ubsdell for a 12-year period following the end of his first-class career in 1870. Designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison and built in 1880, the pavilion is the oldest remaining at a first-class cricket ground. The first Women's Cricket World Cup was held in England in 1973.
