John Stiles
John Stiles was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia, Canada. He is the author of the poetry collections ''Scouts are Cancelled'' and ''Creamsicle Stick Shivs'', as well as the novels ''The Insolent Boy'' and ''Taking the Stairs''. Featured on CBC's 'Q', Much Music, and TVO's 'Imprint', Stiles has also written for The Globe and Mail and The Literary Review of Canada. Annapolis Valley
The Annapolis Valley is a valley and region in the Canadian province of Nova Scotia. It is located in the western part of the Nova Scotia peninsula, formed by a trough between two parallel mountain ranges along the shore of the Bay of Fundy. Statistics Canada defines the Annapolis Valley as an economic region, composed of Annapolis County, Kings County, and Hants County. Geography The valley measures approximately in length from Digby and the Annapolis Basin in the west to Wolfville and the Minas Basin in the east, spanning the counties of Digby, Annapolis and Kings. The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary festival in North America. The event takes place annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The 27th edition of the festival took place online throughout May and June 2020. In addition to the annual festival, Hot Docs owns and operates the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, administers multiple production funds, and runs year-round screening programs including Doc Soup and Hot Docs Showcase.
