John Robertson (Bothwell MP)
John Robertson MBE (1867 – 14 February 1926) was a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. He began work in the coal mines as a boy of thirteen, eventually becoming Chairman of the Scottish Miners' Union. He was unsuccessful parliamentary candidate for the Bothwell constituency in Lanarkshire at the 1918 general election and was elected as Member of Parliament for the constituency in a 1919 by-election, holding the seat until his death. John Dill Robertson
John Dill Robertson (March 8, 1871 – August 20, 1931) was a medical professional and politician. He served as Chicago city health commissioner, president of the Chicago Board of Education, and president of the Chicago West Parks Board. In 1927, Robertson ran a third-party campaign for Chicago mayor. As a politician, Thompson was affiliated with the Republican Party. He was an ally of Republican boss Frederick Lundin, and prior to his 1927 mayoral campaign against him, had also long been an ally of William Hale Thompson. During Robertson's tenure as Chicago city health commissioner, the city was impacted by the pandemic of the 1918 Spanish flu. When the flu began to impact the Chicago area, Thompson downplayed the threat of pandemic. Thompson did put in place a number of public health measures, but kept schools open and allowed a parade promoting Liberty bonds to still be held even after the pandemic began to seriously impact the city. Jon Robertson (born 25 April 1989) is a Scottish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Championship side Alloa Athletic. John Neilson Robertson (born 20 January 1953) is a Scottish former professional footballer. He provided the assisting cross for Trevor Francis to score the only goal when Nottingham Forest won the 1979 European Cup Final. A year later he scored when Forest retained the trophy 1-0 this time against Hamburger SV. At Forest he also won promotion from the 1976–77 Football League Second Division, the 1977–78 Football League First Division, the UEFA Super Cup, two Football League Cups, the 1978 FA Charity Shield and the Anglo-Scottish Cup. He also played for the full Scotland national football team, scoring the winning goal against England in 1981 and against New Zealand in the 1982 FIFA World Cup. John Nicol Robertson (1884 – 23 January 1937) was a Scottish professional footballer who played at half-back for various clubs in the early 20th century, spending most of his career with Southampton. Football career Robertson was born in Ochiltree in South Ayrshire and after spending time with Rangers in Glasgow, moved to England in April 1902 to join Bolton Wanderers of the Football League Second Division.
