John Robert Kebty-Fletcher
John Robert Kebty-Fletcher (1869 – 12 July 1918) was a British Conservative politician. Born in Liverpool, Kebty-Fletcher was educated at Liverpool College and on the continent of Europe, and was a linguist, speaking five languages.''Who Was Who'', Published by A&C Black Limited. Online edition, 2020 During the Second Anglo-Boer War he worked as a correspondent for the '' Liverpool Post''. By 1910 he was the chief partner in the firm of Messrs George Fletcher, provision merchants, and a former president of the Liverpool Produce Exchange and a trustee of the Mersey Quay and Railway Carters' Union. In 1912 his address was given as "The Paddock", Hooton, Cheshire. Political career Active in Unionist politics, by 1900 Kebty-Fletcher was a member of Liverpool City Council. Sir (Collingwood) George Clements Hamilton, 1st Baronet (1 November 1877 – 12 January 1947) was an English electrical engineer and Conservative Party politician. Born in Northumberland, he was the son of a prominent Church of England cleric, the Venerable George Hans Hamilton, Archdeacon of Lindisfarne then Northumberland, Canon of Durham and his wife Lady Louisa Hamilton. Sir William John Crossley, 1st Baronet (22 April 1844 – 12 October 1911) was a British engineer and Liberal politician. W J Crossley was born at Glenburn, near Lisburn, County Antrim. The 1913 Altrincham by-election was a Parliamentary by-election held on 28 May 1913. The constituency returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post voting system.
