John Reilly (Australian Footballer)
John Arthur Reilly (born 11 January 1942) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton Football Club then Western Bulldogs, Footscray in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League. Originally from South Fremantle Football Club, South Fremantle, he returned to play for them in 1970 and played in their West Australian Football League premiership winning side. He is the son of former South Fremantle ruckman Jack "Corp" Reilly and the elder brother of Graeme Reilly, who played alongside John in the 1970 premiership. Graeme died of a brain tumour in February 1975, aged 28, after collapsing at training during the 1974 season. John Reily
John Reily (1763-1850) was a soldier in the American Revolution who later held a number of civic positions including helping draft the Ohio State Constitution. Reily Township in Butler County, Ohio is named for him. Biography John Reily was born in Chester County, Pennsylvania on April 10, 1763, and moved with his parents to Augusta County, Virginia when young. From the age of 17, Reily served in the Revolutionary War, including the Battle of Camden, the Battle of Guilford Court House, and the Battle of Eutaw Springs. After the War, Reily moved to Kentucky. In 1790 he moved to Columbia, (now a neighborhood of Cincinnati) to build John Reily's Classical School and became its first school teacher. It was one of the first schools in the territory. The school grew and he soon hired a second teacher, Francis Dunlavy. In 1799, he was elected clerk of the Legislature of the Northwest Territory, and re-elected to that position in 1800 and 1801. John "Jacko" Reilly, (1926–1969) was a traditional Irish singer. He was a settled Irish Traveller who lived in Boyle, County Roscommon, but hailed originally from Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim. He was a profound influence on many popular folk and traditional singers, based largely on recordings of his singing by the Irish song collector Tom Munnelly which were however not released until after his early death in 1969 at the age of 44. Biography Reilly was born at Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim around 1926 to an Irish Traveller family that also included seven sisters and a single brother, Martin. John Henry Matthew Reilly (November 11, 1934 – January 9, 2021) was an American film and television actor who appeared on soap operas, including ''General Hospital'', '' Sunset Beach'', and ''Passions''. Career Born in Chicago, Illinois, Reilly began acting in the mid 1960s with guest starring roles on ''Death Valley Days'', ''Apple's Way'' and ''Gunsmoke''. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. John Good Reilly (October 5, 1858 – May 31, 1937), nicknamed "Long John", was an American first baseman in Major League Baseball who played for the Cincinnati Stars (1880) and the Cincinnati Red Stockings/Reds (–). In 1888, he hit 13 home runs with 103 RBI and a .321 batting average. During and after his baseball career, Reilly was a commercial artist for the Strobridge Lithographing Company. John Reilly (February 22, 1836 – April 19, 1904) was a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania. John Reilly was born in Abnerville, Pennsylvania. He received home instruction and attended the public schools. He entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad, on April 10, 1854. He was appointed superintendent of transportation April 1, 1865. He served until his resignation in 1875, having been elected to Congress. He served as president of the Bells Gap Railroad from 1871 to 1873 and president of the board of city commissioners of Altoona, Pennsylvania, in 1872 and 1873. Reilly was elected as a Democrat in 1874 to the Forty-fourth Congress. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1876.
