John Reese (baseball)
John Edward "Bubbles" Reese (April 19, 1895 - October 5, 1966) was a Negro league baseball outfielder and manager for two years before the founding of the first Negro National League in 1920, until his final season in 1931. In 1917, a 22 year-old Reese registered for the World War I draft. He listed his employer and home address as Morris Brown University in Atlanta Atlanta ( ) is the capital and most populous city of the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the seat of Fulton County, the most populous county in Georgia, but its territory falls in both Fulton and DeKalb counties. John Bailie Reese (23 April 1877 – 26 January 1971) was a New Zealand cricketer. He played in two first-class matches for Canterbury in 1900/01. He was a son of Daniel Reese and two of his brothers were also prominent in cricket: Tom Reese Thomas Wilson Reese (29 September 1867 – 13 April 1949) was a New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Canterbury from 1888 to 1918, and later wrote a two-volume history of New Zealand cricket. John Earl Reese
John Earl Reese (October 9, 1939 – October 23, 1955) was an African American teenager who was murdered in Gregg County, Texas. Reese's killing is considered by authorities today to have been a hate crime, designed to thwart the creation of a new school in the community. Death and afterward On October 22, 1955, Reese, along with his cousins Joyce Faye Crockett Nelson and Johnnie Crockett, were dancing in a local cafe. Two white men, Joe Simpson and Perry Dean Ross, shot the teenagers from a passing car. His cousins survived, but Reese died the next day. The two suspects shot up some homes and churches before being arrested. Ross, the shooter in the Reese murder, was convicted of murder, and given a five-year suspended sentence. Simpson was indicted but the charge was dismissed. John Terence Reese (28 August 1913 – 29 January 1996) was a British bridge player and writer, regarded as one of the finest of all time in both fields. The Uproar Festival, also called the Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Festival, was an annual hard rock and heavy metal tour inaugurated in 2010 by John Reese and sponsored by Rockstar Energy Drink. The tour was also created by John Oakes, Darryl Eaton and Ryan Harlacher from the Creative Artists Agency, and Perry Lavoisne from Live Nation. Reese is also responsible for creating Mayhem Festival and the Taste of Chaos tour.
