John Reed (footballer)
John Paul Reed (born 27 August 1972) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Rotherham, England, he played for Sheffield United, Scarborough, Darlington, Mansfield Town and Blackpool in the Football League. Reed subsequently spent five years playing in the English non-league, along with a brief spell at Greek side Ethnikos Piraeus. Playing career Reed came through the youth system at Sheffield United but never managed to establish himself in the first team. He was loaned to Scarborough, Darlington and Mansfield Town to get first team experience, but eventually left Bramall Lane having only made 17 appearances in total, scoring two goals. Reed signed for Blackpool during the 1997 close season, but the move proved to be an unsuccessful one as he made only three substitute appearances in the league for The Tangerines. Rotherham
Rotherham () is a large minster and market town in South Yorkshire, England. The town takes its name from the River Rother which then merges with the River Don. The River Don then flows through the town centre. It is the main settlement of the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham. Rotherham is also the third largest settlement in South Yorkshire after Sheffield and Doncaster, which it is located between. Traditional industries included glass making and flour milling. Frickley is a village in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England in the civil parish of Clayton with Frickley. It lies close to the border with West Yorkshire. Local landmarks All Saints Church Frickley All Saints Church is situated about from the main village in the middle of a field, accessed by a lane from the road. The reason for this unusual site stems back to plague times, when Frickley village was effectively burnt to the ground and re-sited on the top of the hill following a plague epidemic. The only proof that the village was ever anywhere else is the oddly sited church. Being the only stone building of the time, it was left where it was, and survives to this day as an active place of worship in the Parish of Bilham. Bramall Lane is a association football, football stadium in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, which is the home of Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United. The English Football League (EFL) is a league of professional football clubs from England and Wales. Founded in 1888 as the Football League, the league is the oldest such competition in the world. Ilkeston is a town in the Borough of Erewash, Derbyshire, England, on the River Erewash, from which the borough takes its name, with a population at the 2011 census of 38,640.
