John Pinto (basketball)
Nard John "Nards" V. Pinto (born October 15, 1990) is a Filipino basketball player for the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Professional career Pinto was drafted 19th overall by the GlobalPort Batang Pier in the 2014 PBA draft. In 2015, he joined the Mahindra Enforcer. In September 2016, he joined the Blackwater Elite after becoming an unrestricted free agent. On January 7, 2019, he was traded to the Phoenix Pulse Fuel Masters for Joseph Eriobu. However, before appearing in a game with the Fuel Masters, on January 12, he was traded to the Meralco Bolts for Jason Ballesteros and a 2020 second-round pick. The day after, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Bolts. On January 1, 2022, Pinto became an unrestricted free agent. On January 7, he signed a three-year deal with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel after declining a contract extension with the Bolts. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. Above all, the point guard must understand and accept their coach's game plan; in this way, the position can be compared to a quarterback in American football. Jason Ballesteros
Jason Ballesteros (born October 7, 1985) is a Filipino professional basketball player for Koponang Lakan ng Bulacan of the Pilipinas Super League. He was drafted seventh by the Meralco Bolts in the 2011 PBA draft. He has also played for Smart Gilas. College career Ballesteros played college basketball for the San Sebastian Stags where he became the team's starting center. While playing for San Sebastian, he was known as one of NCAA Philippines' top defensive players, winning the Defensive Player of the Year award twice, in 2007 and 2008. He also made the league's Mythical Five team in his final season in 2008. Professional career Ballesteros was drafted by Meralco Bolts seventh overall in the 2011 PBA draft that also featured his former Smart Gilas teammates. Arellano University (AU) is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Manila, the Philippines.
