John Petersen (musician)
John Louis Petersen (January 8, 1942 – November 11, 2007) was an American drummer, most notably for rock bands The Beau Brummels and Harpers Bizarre. Early life John Petersen was born to Louis Sylvester Petersen and Mila Marie Williams in Rudyard, Michigan, on January 8, 1942, and moved to San Francisco at the age of five years old. Petersen attended Longfellow Elementary School in Long Beach as a child. Career In 1964 Petersen joined the Beau Brummels, whose first two singles, " Laugh, Laugh" and " Just a Little", reached the U.S. top 20. He appeared with the band in the 1965 science-fiction/comedy movie ''Village of the Giants'', which was featured in a 1994 episode of ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. Petersen also appeared with the band as The Beau Brummelstones on ''The Flintstones'' television animated sitcom in the season six episode "Shinrock A Go-Go," which originally aired on December 3, 1965. The Flintstones
''The Flintstones'' is an American animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. The series takes place in a romanticized Stone Age setting and follows the activities of the titular family, the Flintstones, and their next-door neighbors, the Rubbles. Ted Templeman
Edward John "Ted" Templeman (born October 24, 1942) is an American record producer. Among the acts he has a long relationship with are the rock bands Van Halen and the Doobie Brothers and the singer Van Morrison; he produced multiple critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums by each of them. Career Templeman was born in Santa Cruz, California, where he began his career in the mid 1960s as a drummer in a band called The Tikis. At the suggestion of Warner Brothers staff producer Lenny Waronker, the group decided to change their name to Harpers Bizarre in 1966 with Templeman switching to guitar and vocals. In 1967, the group released the album '' Feelin' Groovy'' (Warner Bros.), which included material by Randy Newman that later appeared on the songwriter's 1972 album '' Sail Away''. ''The Beau Brummels'' is the sixth studio album by the American rock band of the same name. Released in April 1975, the album features the work of all five original band members for the first time since the band's debut album, 1965's ''Introducing the Beau Brummels.'' The album peaked at number 180 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' 200 albums chart in 1975. Background and release After 1968's ''Bradley's Barn'' album, the Beau Brummels, by which time were a duo consisting of lead singer Sal Valentino and guitarist-songwriter Ron Elliott, split. Valentino recorded a few solo singles for Warner Bros. Records before forming a new band, Stoneground, which released three albums between 1971 and 1973. "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" is a song by folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, written by Paul Simon and included on their 1966 album ''Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme''. Its name is based on the 59th Street Bridge (formally known then as the Queensboro Bridge, later renamed the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge), which is a bridge of New York City that was completed in 1909. ''Cash Box'' called it a "sparkling, spirited lid." The studio version features Dave Brubeck Quartet members Joe Morello (drums) and Eugene Wright (double bass).
