John Petersen (footballer)
John Petersen (born 22 April 1972) is a retired Faroese football striker and the current manager for the Faroe Islands women's national football team. Club career A prolific striker, Petersen has won Faroese league winner medals with GÍ Gøta and B36 Tórshavn. He then moved to play with compatriots Jens Martin Knudsen, Sámal Joensen and Jens Erik Rasmussen at Leiftur in the Icelandic league only to return to the Faroe Islands after a disappointing season in which the team relegated. Petersen was Faroese league top goalscorer in the 1994 season. He also had a short spell with Danish sides Holstebro BK and Skive IK. John Petersen is the second most scoring footballer in the Faroese league, with 147 goals. International career Petersen made his debut for the Faroe Islands in an October 1995 European Championship qualifying match against San Marino, coming on as a substitute for Todi Jónsson. John Louis Petersen (January 8, 1942 – November 11, 2007) was an American drummer, most notably for rock bands The Beau Brummels and Harpers Bizarre. Early life John Petersen was born to Louis Sylvester Petersen and Mila Marie Williams in Rudyard, Michigan, on January 8, 1942, and moved to San Francisco at the age of five years old. Petersen attended Longfellow Elementary School in Long Beach as a child. Career In 1964 Petersen joined the Beau Brummels, whose first two singles, " Laugh, Laugh" and " Just a Little", reached the U.S. top 20. He appeared with the band in the 1965 science-fiction/comedy movie ''Village of the Giants'', which was featured in a 1994 episode of ''Mystery Science Theater 3000''. John Chapman "Chap" Petersen (born March 27, 1968) is an American politician. A Democrat, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates 2002–06, was elected to the Virginia State Senate in November 2007, and was reelected in 2011. John Charles Peterson OBE TD (2 September 1911 – 22 November 1990) was a Welsh boxer who held the British heavyweight boxing title on two occasions. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (TD) in 1950 and appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 1978 Birthday Honours "for services to Sport particularly in Wales."
