John Peek (embryologist)
John Peek (born 22 April 1952) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. He played for Canterbury-Bankstown and South Sydney as a lock. Playing career A Lakemba United junior, Peek made his debut for Canterbury-Bankstown (first grade player number #386) in 1972 against Balmain. In 1974, Peek played for Canterbury in the 1974 grand final defeat against Eastern Suburbs. Along with team mate Chris Anderson, Peek joined English club Widnes for the 1974–75 season, and played for the club in their defeat to Bradford Northern in the 1974–75 Player's No.6 Trophy final. The following year, Peek captained Canterbury for a few games but by 1976 was demoted to reserve grade. In 1978, Peek joined South Sydney (first grade player number #639) and spent four seasons at the club before retiring at the end of 1981. Lakemba, New South Wales
Lakemba () is a suburb south west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Lakemba is located 12 kilometres south west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown. It is one of the easternmost suburbs in Greater Western Sydney. Geography Lakemba is in the Cooks River watershed. This river is tidal up to the edge of Lakemba. A bike and walking trail takes walkers and cyclists all the way from nearby Belfield to the east along the Cooks River, to where it flows into Botany Bay. In the opposite direction the bike and walking trail goes north to Olympic Park and Homebush Bay on the Parramatta River. Canterbury Road winds its way high along the ridge, which is the boundary of the watersheds of Cooks River and Wolli Creek to the south. Adam Peek (born 5 October 1977) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer. Somewhat of a journeyman, Peek played first grade for the Adelaide Rams, Canterbury Bulldogs, South Sydney Rabbitohs, Parramatta Eels, St George Illawarra, Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, and the Celtic Crusaders. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Players
Canterbury-Bankstown is a customary region of Sydney, Australia, in the south-western suburbs. The area is located around the Bankstown railway line, to the west of the St George region and to the south of the Inner West region. The suburbs of the Canterbury-Bankstown region are not specific to the local government area of the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, but includes many of them.
