John Pak
John Pak (born December 18, 1998) is an American professional golfer. Pak was raised in Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Pak attended Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School for one year before moving to Orlando, Florida to train. As a junior golfer, he was named to the Rolex Junior First Team All-American by the American Junior Golf Association. He was ranked seventh in the 2017 signing class and 15th among all junior golfers according to ''Golfweek''. In 2017, he began playing collegiate golf for the Florida State Seminoles men's golf team. During his time as a Seminole, Pak has won the Sea Best Invitational, 2019 & 2020 Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate, Rod Myers Invitational, 2018 & 2020 Seminole Intercollegiate, and the 2019 ACC Championship. Pak was selected to the 2019 Walker Cup team. Pak swept the college golf awards in 2021 as a senior, winning the Haskins Award, Ben Hogan Award, and Jack Nicklaus Award. Scotch Plains is a township in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The township is located on a ridge in northern- central New Jersey, within the Raritan Valley and Rahway Valley regions in the New York metropolitan area. 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup
The 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup was a team golf competition held from December 21–23, 2020 at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, Bay Hill, Florida. It was the 24th time the event had been contested and the third under the new format in which women golfers played in addition to men and an international team, representing the rest of the world, replaced the European team. The international team won the match 40½–19½. The event was originally planned to be played at Lahinch Golf Club, Lahinch, Ireland from July 3–5 but was moved because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Arnold Palmer Cup
The Arnold Palmer Cup is an annual team golf competition for college/university golfers. From 2018 it has been contested between a United States team and an International team representing the rest of the world. The teams consist of 12 men and 12 women. The teams are selected on the basis of nationality, not according to the location of the players' universities. The 2023 event will be held from June 10 to 12 at Laurel Valley Golf Club, near Ligonier, Pennsylvania. History From its foundation in 1997 until 2017 the event was only contested by men. From 1997 until 2002 the United States played Great Britain & Ireland while from 2003 to 2017 the United States played a European team. The 48th Walker Cup Match was held May 8–9, 2021, in the United States at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida. It was the first time the Walker Cup was played in Florida. The United States won by 14 points to 12. Format On Saturday, were four matches of foursomes in the morning and eight singles matches in the afternoon. On Sunday, there were again four matches of foursomes in the morning, followed by ten singles matches (involving every player) in the afternoon. In all, 26 matches were played. Each of the 26 matches was worth one point in the larger team competition. If a match was all square after the 18th hole extra holes are not played.
