John Page (footballer, Born 1934)
John Page (21 October 1934 – 2 July 2006) was an English footballer. Born in Frimley Green, Surrey, Page played the majority of his professional career with Football League club Southampton, before later moving to Hastings United for his final season. He also managed Camberley Town between 1967 and 1970. Originally an outside-left, Page played primarily as a centre-half and occasionally as a right-back. Playing career John Page played youth football for Mytchett Boys, before he was signed in October 1951 by Southampton coach Jimmy Eason on the recommendation of Mytchett manager "Busty" Wells. At the age of 18, Page made his debut against Sheffield United on 8 November 1952, playing at outside-left alongside Ted Bates, although he quickly converted to a centre-half. John Elliot Page (23 September 1901 – 1979) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Millwall and Luton Town. He played in either inside-forward position, or as a left-half. Born in Grays, Essex, Page played for Grays Thurrock United before joining Millwall in April 1926. The move represented the highest transfer fee paid for a Kent League player. John Ferguson Page (27 March 1900 – 14 February 1947) was a British figure skater who competed in the 1924 Winter Olympics and in the 1928 Winter Olympics. John Page (planter)
Colonel John Page (c. 1627 – 23 January 1692) was a planter, slave trader, merchant and politician in colonial Virginia. Born in East Bedfont, Middlesex, Page eventually migrated to the colony of Virginia, where he lived in Middle Plantation and served as a member of the House of Burgesses from 1665 to 1677 and a member of the Virginia Governor's Council from 1677 to 1692. A wealthy landowner, Page donated land and funds towards construction of the Bruton Parish Church. Page was also involved in the establishment of the College of William & Mary in 1693, as well as being a chief proponent of Middle Plantation being designated the colony's capital in 1698. His efforts eventually resulted in the renaming of Middle Plantation as Williamsburg in 1699, perhaps most well known as the birthplace of democratic governmental principals among Patriot revolutionaries before and during the American Revolution.
