Joseph Hatton
Joseph Paul Christopher Hatton (3 February 1837 (baptised in Andover 22 March 1837) – 31 July 1907) was an English novelist and journalist. He was Editor of ''The Sunday Times'' from 1874 to 1881. Life Hatton was born and baptised in Andover, Hampshire, but his parents, Francis Augustus and Mary Ann Hatton, moved to Chesterfield when he was young, where he later became apprenticed as a printer to his father. Hatton married Louisa Johnson and had three children: the artist Helen Howard Hatton, Bessie Lyle Hatton, and Frank Hatton. His brother Joshua Hatton was also a journalist. Hatton accompanied Henry Irving on an North American tour to write his biography. Joseph Hatton died in St John's Wood, Middlesex at the age of 70. New York Dramatic Mirror
The ''New York Dramatic Mirror'' (1879–1922) was a prominent theatrical trade newspaper. History The paper was founded in January 1879 by Ernest Harvier as the ''New York Mirror''. In stating its purpose to cover the theater, it proclaimed that coverage of the dramatic profession had been "degraded by having its affairs treated in the professedly theatrical papers side by side with prize fights, cocking matches, baseball, and other sports." This referred to competitors such as the ''New York Clipper''. The word "Dramatic" was inserted in the title in 1889, and the "New York" dropped in 1917. Marie Walcamp (July 27, 1894 – November 17, 1936) was an American actress of the silent film era, often specializing in roles as an "action heroine" in serials, including Westerns. She often appeared with actor Eddie Polo. Biography Born in Dennison, Ohio, Walcamp was the daughter of Mary (née Mackel) and Arnold Walcamp. She relocated to the East Coast after finishing her formal education, making the move with hopes of finding acting jobs on the stage. After landing various roles in New York, she signed to Universal Studios in 1913 and was cast at the age of 19 in the film '' The Werewolf''. She appeared in more than 50 motion pictures, mostly shorts, over the next two years, although by 1916 the pace of her work in films began to decrease.
