John Mullahy
John Mullahy (born 14 December 1982) is an Australian politician. He has been a member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly since November 2022, and is the first Labor Member to represent Glen Waverley District. Since his election, Mullahy has overseen and advocated for major investment into the Glen Waverley District, including in schools, open space and the Suburban Rail Loop. Mullahy has also been appointed as a member of the Legislative Assembly Economy and Infrastructure Committee. Political Involvement Mullahy first became involved in the Australian Labor Party during the Abbott Government, citing strong dissatisfaction with the government's divisive and right wing politics. He initially became a member of the Waverley West Branch of the Labor Party, volunteering on campaigns for Anna Burke and Matt Fregon. The Victorian Legislative Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Victoria in Australia; the upper house being the Victorian Legislative Council. Electoral District Of Forest Hill
Forest Hill was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It was a 25 km² electorate located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, encompassing the suburbs of Blackburn South, Burwood East and Vermont South and parts of Forest Hill and Vermont. The electorate had a population of 50,163 as of the 2006 census. Forest Hill was created as a relatively safe Liberal seat in 1976, and was won by Liberal candidate John Richardson at the election that year. Richardson was re-elected at six consecutive elections, surviving some close races against Labor candidates at the height of the Cain government in the 1980s, and held the seat with a comfortable margin of over 7% when he retired at the 2002 election. Meredith, Victoria
Meredith is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Midland Highway between Ballarat and Geelong, in the local government area of the City of Greater Geelong. At the , Meredith had a population of 788. History The town was surveyed in 1851–52. The naming of the town thought to be in honor of Captain Charles Meredith. Meredith Post Office opened on 1 November 1854 and the railway came to the town with the opening of the Geelong-Ballarat line in 1862, with the local railway station opened soon after. Forest Hill College
Forest Hill College is a co-educational state secondary college in Burwood East, Victoria, Australia. The College Up until 2010, Forest Hill College was divided into 2 sub-schools, Junior (Year 7-9), and Senior (Year 10-12), with a courtyard for Year 7–9, a courtyard for Year 10, and another courtyard for VCE Year 11–12. New developmental plans for the school were implemented in 2010 which has since changed the way in which the college is divided. No longer are there separate courtyards based on year level. Vermont Secondary College is a state high school located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Vermont, Victoria, Australia. Vermont Secondary College opened as Vermont High School in 1962. The school buildings were constructed in stages between 1962 and 1970 using the Light Timber Construction (LTC) design of the Victorian Public Works Department. At completion, two classroom wings (designated "N" and "C" and a technical wing (designated "S") were constructed. Glen Waverley Secondary College is a non-selective public government school located in Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia. It is one of the largest secondary schools in Victoria, with 1,979 students and 158 teachers as of 2017.
