John Mann (British Actor)
John Mann (1915–1981) was an English actor. He is best remembered for playing the cockney Snowy White who assisted the hero in Dick Barton for the BBC Light Programme between 1946 and 1951. He trained at RADA The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA; ) is a drama school in London, England, that provides vocational conservatoire training for theatre, film, television, and radio. It is based in the Bloomsbury area of Central London, close to the Senat ... in the early 1930s and then played many smaller roles in the theatre both in London and touring until called up in WW2. He was posted to Stars in Battledress until demob in 1946. He also had small parts in films such as ''It's not Cricket'' and ''Christopher Columbus''. As work dried up in the early 1950s he continued with his love of acting by taking part in amateur dramatics and it was on the way home from rehearsals that he died in 1981. John Mann (Australian Politician)
John Mann (1869 – 1 January 1939) was an Australian politician. He was the member for Cairns in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1904 to 1912. Initially a member of the Labor Party, he followed Premier William Kidston out of the party in 1907 into what became known as the " Kidston Party". John Man
John Man (1512–1569) was an English churchman, college head, and a diplomat. Life He was born at Lacock or Winterbourne Stoke, in Wiltshire. He was educated at Winchester College from 1523, and New College, Oxford, where he graduated B.A. in 1533, and M.A. in 1537, and became a Fellow. Under suspicion of heresy, he was expelled; but became the principal of White Hall, Oxford in 1547. In 1562 he was appointed Warden of Merton College, Oxford, by the influence of Archbishop Matthew Parker. He became Dean of Gloucester in 1566. In 1567 he was sent by Elizabeth I as her ambassador to Madrid; the mission was unsuccessful and he was recalled in 1568. Dr. John Man was a Protestant cleric, who called the pope in public a canting little monk. Jackie Mann, (11 June 1914 – 12 November 1995) was a Royal Air Force fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain, who in later life was kidnapped by Islamists in Lebanon in May 1989 and held hostage for more than two years. RAF career Born in Northampton on 11 June 1914, Mann joined the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve in Reading in 1938. As a sergeant pilot (Service No. 127025), he was posted in July 1940 to No. 64 Squadron RAF, flying Spitfires. He was shot down by Royal Navy anti-aircraft fire on 16 August. John Mann (born June 27, 1985) is an American water polo player. He led the University of California team to the 2006 NCAA Championship, and he played for the United States national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Career High school Mann played on the water polo team at Corona del Mar High School and won three C.I.F. titles. Starting his sophomore season, Mann began to rapidly develop as a top youth player in the country and was selected to train with the United States Olympic team shortly after his Sophomore year at Corona del Mar High. Mann attributes his growth during this time to the flexibility of his teachers and administrators allowing him to attend daily practice with the National Team at the Los Alamitos Joint training facility between 7-10 a.m. and 5-9 p.m. practice.
