John Lowe (executive)
John Lowe is the CEO of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and Eat Well Distribution. Career Lowe began his career at the law firm of Kegler Brown Hill & Ritter in Columbus, Ohio from 1996 to 2005. He then worked in the legal department at GE Aviation from 2005 to 2009. In 2009, Jeni Britton Bauer appointed Lowe of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. During his tenure as CEO, Jeni's has grown to 20 scoop shops and is carried by more than 1,800 retailers nationwide. Lowe is a board member at White Castle, Greater Columbus Sports Commission and Columbus Chamber of Commerce. 'Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams'' is an artisan ice cream company headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Jeni's has over 60 branded 'scoop shops' and retail distributors nationally. History Jeni Britton Bauer is the founder and chief creative officer of Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. Before starting Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Jeni Britton Bauer attended Ohio State University and studied art history and fine art. While in college, one of her friends was a chemistry graduate student who gave her vials of scented chemicals, which led her to gather essential oils, make her own perfume, and sell her perfumes for a few years. Bauer experimented with the scentless, spicy essential oil of cayenne pepper and decided to mush it into chocolate ice cream to make spicy frozen chocolate. She realized that ice cream was "the perfect carrier of scent," and she immediately started making many other flavors of ice cream with essential oils.
