John Lodge (musician)
John Charles Lodge (born 20 July 1945) is an English musician, best known as bass guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of the longstanding rock band the Moody Blues. He has also worked as a record producer and has collaborated with other musicians outside the band. In 2018, Lodge was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Moody Blues. Biography Early years John Charles Lodge was born in Erdington, Birmingham on 20 July 1945. He attended school at Birches Green Junior School, Central Grammar School and later went to college at the Birmingham College of Advanced Technology for engineering. His early influences were musicians like Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis. By age 14, Lodge had met future bandmate Ray Thomas. Career Lodge was initially involved in the Birmingham music scene, although he temporarily dropped out to continue his studies. John Lodge (1692–1774) was an English archivist and historian, best known for his work ''The Peerage of Ireland'', a complete genealogical history of Irish peers. Life Lodge was born into a farming family in Bolton-le-Sands, Lancashire, as the son of a husbandman-farmer, Edmund Lodge. He was educated at a school in Clapham, Yorkshire, under Mr. Ashe, and was admitted sub-sizar of St John's College, Cambridge on 26 June 1716. He graduated B.A. in 1719; was ordained a deacon at Lincoln in 1720 and as a priest at Ely in 1721; then became a schoolteacher at March, Cambridgeshire in 1725, and was awarded his M.A. in 1730. He went on to settle in Abbey Street, Dublin. In 1744, he published a ''Report of the Trial in Ejectment of Campbell Craig'', from his own shorthand notes. John Davis Lodge
John Davis Lodge (October 20, 1903 – October 29, 1985) was an American film actor, lawyer, politician, and diplomat. He was the 79th governor of Connecticut from 1951 to 1955, and later served as U.S. ambassador to Spain, Argentina, and Switzerland. As an actor, he often was credited simply as John Lodge. He had roles in four Hollywood films between 1933 and 1935, including playing Marlene Dietrich's lover in ''The Scarlet Empress'' and Shirley Temple's father in '' The Little Colonel''. He starred or co-starred in many British and European films between 1935 and 1940. Lodge was a member of four prominent political families in the Northeast United States: the Cabot, Lodge, Frelinghuysen and Davis families.
