John Langdon (bishop)
John Langdon (died 30 September 1434) was a medieval Bishop of Rochester. Langdon was admitted a monk of Christ Church, Canterbury, in 1398. Afterwards he studied at Oxford, and is said to have belonged to Gloucester Hall. He was one of twelve Oxford scholars appointed at the suggestion of convocation in 1411 to inquire into the doctrines of Wycliffe. On 17 November 1421 he was appointed by papal provision to the see of Rochester, and was consecrated on 7 June 1422Fryde, et al. ''Handbook of British Chronology'' p. 267 at Canterbury by Archbishop Chicheley. After his consecration he appears among the royal councillors, and after 1430 his name constantly occurs among those present at the meetings. John Langdon (driver)
John Langdon (born August 24, 1947) is a former driver of standardbred racehorses in New Zealand. He was associated with many champions and was a leading driver of harness horses in New Zealand. He is notable for winning the Inter Dominion Championship twice, both times in 1975. The Inter Dominion is the premier trotting series of races between Australia and New Zealand. He is also an inductee in the Inter Dominion Hall of Fame. Langdon also won the Auckland Trotting Cup and the New Zealand Trotting Cup. These are the two top races in New Zealand. John Langdon (June 26, 1741September 18, 1819) was a politician from New Hampshire, and a Founding Father of the United States. He served as a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, signed the United States Constitution, and was one of the first two United States senators from New Hampshire. As a member of the Continental Congress, Langdon was an early supporter of the Revolutionary War. He later served in United States Congress for 12 years, including as the first president pro tempore of the Senate, before becoming president and later governor of New Hampshire. He turned down a nomination for U.S. vice presidential candidate in 1812. John Langdon (born April 19, 1946) is an American graphic designer, ambigram artist, painter, and writer. Langdon has been a freelance artist specializing in logos, type, and lettering since 1977. He retired from teaching in Drexel University's graphic design program in November 2015 after 27 years of service.
