John Joseph Kehoe (August 28, 1891 – April 16, 1967) was an accountant and political figure in Ontario. He represented Cochrane North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1943 to 1945 as a Co-operative Commonwealth member. The son of Michael J. Kehoe and Caroline Fuller, he was born in King township in 1891. In 1915, Kehoe married Muriel Grier. John J. Kehoe (October 20, 1934 – February 4, 2024) was a lawyer and politician in Quebec. He represented Chapleau in the National Assembly of Quebec from 1981 to 1994 as a Liberal member. He was born in Gatineau, the son of William Kehoe and Mary Murphy, and was educated at the University of Ottawa and at McGill University, where he received at BCL in 1959. He was called to the Quebec bar in 1960 and entered practice with Roy Fournier, opening his own office the following year. This is a list of New Zealand Police officers killed in the line of duty. As of 2020, 33 police officers have been killed by criminal act, and about 17 have died from accidental causes, during the execution of duty. There has been one instance of multiple police deaths, when Stanley Graham gunned down four officers (and two wartime Home Guard (New Zealand), home guardsmen) attempting to apprehend him in 1941, and four double fatalities. Most of the homicides have been a result of ballistic trauma, gunshot wounds, the accidents mainly due to either drowning or vehicle (car/aircraft) accidents. A slain officer may receive a police funeral, including an honour guard and flag-draped casket, and be officially mourned in the New Zealand House of Representatives. Molly Maguires
The Molly Maguires were an Irish 19th-century secret society active in Ireland, Liverpool and parts of the Eastern United States, best known for their activism among Irish-American and Irish immigrant coal miners in Pennsylvania. After a series of often violent conflicts, twenty suspected members of the Molly Maguires were convicted of murder and other crimes and were executed by hanging in 1877 and 1878. This history remains part of local Pennsylvania lore and the actual facts much debated among historians.
