John Joe Hayes
John Joseph Hayes (27 June 1895 – 8 November 1979) was an Irish hurling, hurler. At club level he played with Moycarkey–Borris GAA, Moycarkey–Borris and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. He usually lined out as a corner-back. Career Hayes first came to prominence as a hurler with the Moycarkey–Borris GAA, Moycarkey–Borris club. In a career that spanned three decades, he won four Mid Tipperary Senior Hurling Championship, County Championship titles, including one as Captain (sport), team captain in 1926. Hayes first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team in 1917. It was the first year of a decade-long association with the team, culminating with the winning of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, All-Ireland Championship in 1925. Moycarkey–Borris GAA
Moycarkey–Borris GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "Mid-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Littleton but also takes in areas such as Two-Mile-Borris, Horse and Jockey, and Moycarkey. Formation On Sunday, 25 October 1884, a meeting of the Moycarkey branch of the Irish National League was held in their committee rooms in Moycarkey; Rev. D. M. English was in the chair. Very Rev. John Bourke, who was the branch treasurer and a full committee, was present. Seán Keating
Seán Keating (born John Keating, 28 September 1889 – 21 December 1977) was an Irish romantic-realist painter who painted some iconic images of the Irish War of Independence and of the early industrialization of Ireland. He spent two weeks or so each year during the late summer on the Aran Islands and his many portraits of island people depicted them as rugged heroic figures. However, he ceased to visit the Aran Islands in 1965. Life and career Seán Keating studied drawing at the Limerick Technical School before a scholarship arranged by William Orpen allowed him to go at the age of twenty to study at the Metropolitan School of Art in Dublin. Over the next few years, he spent time on the Aran Islands. In 1914 Keating won the RDS Taylor award with a painting titled ''The Reconciliation''. The 1924 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 38th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament. The championship began on 4 May 1924 and ended on 14 December 1924. The championship was won by Dublin who secured the title following a 5-3 to 2-6 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final. The 1922 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 36th staging of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county hurling tournament.
