John J. Millner
John J. Millner (born c. 1951) is a former Republican member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 28th district from 2005 to 2013. He previously served as Illinois State Representative for the 55th district from 2003 to 2005, and as Chief of Police of Elmhurst, Illinois from 1986 to 2003. During his tenure, he has focused on legislation related to criminal justice, due to his academic and professional backgrounds. Career Millner served on the police force of Elmhurst, Illinois for 30 years. He then served as Chief of Police starting in 1986. During his tenure, the Elmhurst Police Department launched community policing efforts, bike and motorcycle patrols, and a gun lock giveaway program. In 2001 he served as President of the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, and he is also a former President of the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association. The Illinois Senate is the Upper house, upper chamber of the Illinois General Assembly, the legislative branch of the government of the U.S. state, State of Illinois in the United States. The body was created by the first state constitution adopted in 1818. Under the Constitution of Illinois, Illinois Constitution of 1970, the Illinois Senate is made up of 59 State senator, senators elected from individual legislative districts determined by population and redistricted every 10 years; based on the 2020 U.S. census each senator represents approximately 213,347 people. Western Illinois University
Western Illinois University (WIU) is a public university in Macomb, Illinois. It was founded in 1899 as Western Illinois State Normal School. As the normal school grew, it became Western Illinois State Teachers College. History Western Illinois University was founded in 1899. The land for the university was donated to the state of Illinois by Macomb's Freemasons (Illinois Lodge #17). Macomb was in direct competition with Quincy, Illinois, and other candidates as the site for a "western" university. The Illinois legislature selected Macomb as the location. University administrators uncovered evidence of the Freemasons' efforts on Macomb's behalf when they opened Sherman Hall's (the administration building) cornerstone during their centennial celebrations. Lewis University is a private Roman Catholic and Lasallian university in Romeoville, Illinois, United States. The enrollment is currently around 6,800 students.
