John Irvine (journalist)
John Irvine is a television news journalist, and the principal ITV News overseas journalist. Irvine was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. After attending Campbell College, he went on to study journalism at the College of Business Studies, graduating in 1983. Before joining ITN in 1994, he worked for the Tyrone Constitution and UTV. After two years as a producer, he was appointed as ITN's main Ireland Correspondent in 1996. During his time in Northern Ireland he covered the Shankill Road and Remembrance Day bombs. In 2001 Irvine moved to the Middle East, where he was based in Jerusalem and covered the Israeli Army's occupation of Ramallah. From there he moved to Iraq to cover the 2003 Invasion. It is for this coverage that he is most well known, broadcasting nightly reports for ITV News from Baghdad during the intense aerial bombardment. John Irvine (priest)
John Dudley Irvine (born 2 January 1949) was the Dean of Coventry. Career and ministry Irvine was a barrister in London before his ordination to the priesthood. He served a curacy at Holy Trinity Brompton and was one of the founders of the Alpha course. Having taken charge of the Alpha course, he played a major part in transforming it from its original four-week form to its current 10-week form. In 1985, Irvine led the first “church plant” from HTB to St Barnabas Kensington. Irvine was appointed Dean of Coventry in March 2001. He retired on 29 July 2012. He took up the position of associate vicar at Holy Trinity, Cambridge, in September 2012. Jack Irvine
John Alfred (Jack) Irvine (26 January 1912 – 20 July 1996) was a Progressive Conservative party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was a merchant by career. Irvine ran Irvine Appliances. Irvine was born at Wolfe Island, Ontario. He married Doris Seeley in 1937, and moved to Lambeth, London, Ontario in 1950. He entered municipal politics in 1959, becoming an alderman for the London, Ontario city government. Irvine left local politics in 1963 and was elected to the House of Commons at the London riding in the 1963 general election, then re-elected there in the 1965. After electoral district boundary changes in the late 1960s, Irvine campaigned at London West for the 1968 federal election but lost to Judd Buchanan of the Liberal party. John Maxwell Irvine
Maxwell Irvine (28 February 1939 – 24 March 2012) was a British theoretical physicist and university administrator, who served as Vice-Chancellor of the Universities of Aberdeen and Birmingham. Maxwell Irvine became Professor of Theoretical Physics at Manchester University in 1983 and Dean of Science at Manchester in 1989. Irvine was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Aberdeen from 1991 to 1996. He was Vice-Chancellor of Birmingham University from 1996 to 2001. Irvine served as chairman of the nuclear physics committee of the Science Research Council and vice-president of the Institute of Physics. He was a director of the Public Health Laboratory Service. John Irvin (born 7 May 1940) is an English film director. Born in Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, he began his career by directing a number of documentaries and television works, including the BBC adaptation of John le Carré's ''Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy''. He made several Hollywood films in the 1980s, including '' The Dogs of War'' (1980), ''Ghost Story'' (1981) and ''Hamburger Hill'' (1987). Irvin is a graduate of London Film School.
