John Healy (Australian Politician)
John Joseph O'Connor Healy (19 March 1894 – 18 July 1970) was a member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly in Australia. Biography Healy was born in Maryborough, Queensland, the son of John Edward James Healy and his wife Margaret (née O'Connor). He was educated at St Mary's Convent, Yuleba State School, Assumption College in Warwick and Nudgee College in Brisbane. On leaving school he took up work as a clerk with the Queensland Railways in Warwick from 1908 until 1935. After politics he was a clerk in the Queensland Public Service before being the Private Secretary from 1950–1956 to Paul Hilton, the Minister for Works in the Queensland Government. From 1956 he was once again working as a clerk, this time the Valuer-General's department. He retired in 1961. On 5 October 1921, Healy married Florence May Ahern and together had two sons and a daughter. He died in Brisbane in July 1970 and was buried in the South Brisbane Cemetery. Electoral District Of Warwick
Warwick was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland from 1860 to 2001. It centred on the town of Warwick. The electorate was represented by two Premiers: Arthur Morgan and Thomas Joseph Byrnes. It was also the seat of former Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg. Elections were held in the Australian state of Queensland on 29 April 1950 to elect the 75 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. The Labor government was seeking its seventh continuous term in office since the 1932 election; it would be Premier Ned Hanlon's second election. Electoral District Of Roma
Roma was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland from 1950 to 1992. It was named after the town of Roma, and comprises largely areas from the abolished districts of Dalby and Maranoa. Roma was mostly a safe seat for the Country/National party, and was the seat of Premier Russell Cooper. It was abolished in the 1991 redistribution under the Goss government, and its territory distributed between the new district of Western Downs and the existing district of Warrego. Elections were held in the Australian state of Queensland on 3 May 1947 to elect the 62 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. The election was the first that the Labor government had contested under Premier Ned Hanlon, who had been in office for 14 months by the time of the poll. The National Party of Australia – Queensland (NPA-Q), commonly known as Queensland Nationals, or the National Party of Queensland, was the Queensland-state branch of the National Party of Australia (NPA) until 2008. Prior to 1974, it was known as the Country Party.
