John H. Farrell
John H. Farrell (October 23, 1919 – April 20, 1995) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. Life He was born on October 23, 1919, in Manhattan, New York City. He attended St. Columba School and Xavier High School. He graduated from Fordham College and Fordham Law School. He practiced law in New York City and entered politics as a Democrat. He married Ellen K. Stanton (died 2007), and they had three sons. He was employed as a research counsel by State Senate Minority Leader Francis J. Mahoney. Farrell was elected in November 1955 to the New York State Assembly, to fill the vacancy caused by the appointment of John J. Mangan to the Municipal Court, and took his seat in the 170th New York State Legislature at the beginning of the session of 1956. He was re-elected in November 1956, and took his seat in the 171st New York State Legislature on January 9, 1957. Manfred Ohrenstein
Manfred Ohrenstein (born August 5, 1925) is a lawyer and Of Counsel to the New York law firm of Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C. He is a former member of the New York State Senate. A Democrat, he represented Manhattan from 1961 until 1994. From 1975 until 1994, he served as the New York State Senate Minority Leader. He is married to Dr. Marilyn Bacher and has two children, Nancy and David and four grandchildren. Biography The son of a furniture merchant, Manfred "Fred" Ohrenstein was born in 1925 in Mannheim, Germany. In 1938, Ohrenstein and his family, who were Jewish, fled Nazi Germany. Ohrenstein and his family settled in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Ohrenstein graduated from Brooklyn College in 1948 with a B.A Degree, ''Cum Laude.'' Menands, New York
Menands is a village in Albany County, New York, United States. The population was 3,990 at the 2010 census. The village is named after Louis Menand. The village lies inside the town of Colonie and borders the northern city line of Albany. History Menands would have been first spotted by Europeans ''circa'' 1609, when Henry Hudson dropped anchor somewhere near Cuyler or Pleasure Island during his voyage on the river later to be named after him. This would be the furthest north on the river that Hudson would go in the Half Moon. Today, those islands are connected to the mainland, and are the site of Interstate 787 exits 6 and 7, which includes the cloverleaf interchange with NY 378 and the Troy-Menands Bridge. Louis Menand settled in the village in 1842 and established an important horticultural business. Cohoes ( ) is an incorporated city located in the northeast corner of Albany County in the U.S. state of New York. It is called the "Spindle City" because of the importance of textile manufacturing to its growth in the 19th century. The city's factories processed cotton from the Deep South.
