John Grant (British Diplomat)
Sir John Douglas Kelso Grant (born 17 October 1954) is a retired British diplomat whose last diplomatic post was Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the European Union between 2003 and 2007. He now has a small number of part-time advisory roles. Education Grant was born in Singapore and educated at the Edinburgh Academy and St Catharine's College, Cambridge St Catharine's College is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge. Sir Nigel Elton Sheinwald (born 26 June 1953) is a former senior British diplomat, who served as Ambassador to the United States of America between October 2007 and January 2012. He was appointed " Special Envoy on intelligence and law enforcement data sharing" in September 2014. He is also a Senior Advisor to political consultancy Rasmussen Global. Nigel Kim Darroch, Baron Darroch of Kew, (; born 30 April 1954) is a former British diplomat. He served as the British Ambassador to the United States between January 2016 and December 2019, and previously as National Security Adviser and UK Permanent Representative to the European Union. On 10 July 2019, following the leak of diplomatic cables in which he had been critical of the Trump presidential administration, he resigned from his position as HM Ambassador in Washington. Darroch concluded his post in December 2019 upon retirement from HM Diplomatic Service after a career spanning 40 years of public service.
