John Forrest Secondary College
John Forrest Secondary College (abbreviated as JFSC) is an Independent Public secondary school in the Perth suburb of Morley, Western Australia. History John Forrest Secondary College was established in 1961 as Embleton High School. In 1963, it was renamed John Forrest High School. On 17 October 1964, Western Australian governor Douglas Kendrew officially opened the school as John Forrest Senior High School. The school is named after the first Premier of Western Australia, John Forrest. The gymnasium was built in 1965. During its construction, the roof collapsed after the steel girders bent. In the late 1960s, the school became increasingly overcrowded, despite the 1966 establishment of Hampton High School nearby. In 1970, Morley High School was established, but a site had not been selected. At first, Morley High School consisted of 250 students at nine demountable classrooms on John Forrest school grounds. Morley is a suburb of Perth, within the City of Bayswater local government area, situated approximately northeast of the Perth central business district. It contains the Galleria Shopping Centre, one of Perth's larger shopping centres. Morley bus station is located in the car park of the shopping centre. UWA Conservatorium Of Music
The UWA Conservatorium of Music is a teaching and research school offering undergraduate and postgraduate study in music at the University of Western Australia. It is located at the north-east corner of the Crawley campus and teaches predominately Classical music, with focus in the undergraduate curriculum on performance, as well as overall strength in musicology, composition and electronic music. In 2016, UWA entered the top 100 "Performing Arts" institutions in the world, and in 2017 and 2018 the School improved its ranking to enter the top 50 in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings. Ashley William Smith
Ashley William Smith (born 1984) is an Australian clarinet player and academic. He is the chair of woodwind and contemporary performance at the UWA Conservatorium of Music at the University of Western Australia, and a member of the Queensland-based Southern Cross Soloists. Biography Smith was born in Perth, and went to John Forrest Secondary College (then John Forrest Senior High School). He attended the University of Western Australia, where he studied clarinet with Allen Meyer, principal clarinet of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. After completing a Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours, Smith became a fellow at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne, Victoria. In 2010, Smith entered Yale University, where he completed a master's degree in clarinet performance under the tutelage of David Shifrin. Bruce Anthony Reid (born 14 March 1963) is a former Australian international cricketer. A tall left-arm fast-medium bowler, Reid also played domestically for his home state Western Australia. Domestic career Reid played for Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield from 1984–85 to 1995–96. International career Reid represented Australia in Test cricket between December 1985 and December 1992 and in One Day Internationals between January 1986 and March 1992. He played 27 Test matches for Australia taking 113 Test wickets at an average of 24.63 runs per wicket. He also played 61 ODIs, taking 63 wickets. WACA Ground
The WACA (formally the WACA Ground) is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name derives from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association. The WACA has been referred to as Western Australia's "home of cricket" since the early 1890s, with Test cricket played at the ground since the 1970–71 season. The ground is the home venue of Western Australia's first-class cricket team, the Western Warriors, and the state's Women's National Cricket League side, the Western Fury. The Western Australian Cricket Association (known as the WACA) is the governing body for cricket in Western Australia. The WACA was formed on 5 November 1885.
