John Fawcett (of Bolton)
John Fawcett (of Bolton) (8 December 1789 – 26 October 1867) began in life as a shoemaker but taught himself to be a musician, at Bolton-le-moors. John Fawcett (theologian)
John Fawcett (6 January 1739 – 25 July 1817) was a British-born Baptist theologian, pastor and hymn writer. Early years Fawcett was born on 6 January 1739 in Lidget Green, Bradford. In 1762, Fawcett joined the Methodists, but three years later, he united with the Baptist Church and became pastor of Wainsgate Baptist Church in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, England. ''Tie That Binds'' Fawcett served for seven years, despite a small income and a growing family. When he received a call in 1772 to the large and influential Carter's Lane Baptist Church in London Taken from ''The Sacrifice of Praise: Stories Behind the Greatest Praise and Worship Songs of All Time'' he planned to accept the call. But at the last minute he changed his mind, and remained at Wainsgate where his salary was £25 a year. John Fawcett (organist)
John Fawcett the younger (1825?–1857), was an English organist. Fawcett was the third son of John Fawcett (of Bolton), John Fawcett. Fawcett studied music under his father. He was organist of St John the Evangelist's Church, Farnworth from 1825 till 1842, and afterwards (until his death) of St Peter's Church, Bolton, Bolton parish church, a post which had previously been held by an elder brother, and which was taken by a sister for a year in the interval of Fawcett's visit to London. Here he entered the Royal Academy of Music on 5 December 1845, to study under Sterndale Bennett, and became organist at Earl Howe's Curzon Street church. On his return to Bolton, Fawcett resumed his duties as organist, teacher, and (1849) honorary conductor of the Bolton Harmonic Society. He obtained the degree of Mus. John Fawcett (29 August 1768 – 13 March 1837) was an English actor and playwright. John Fawcett was the son of York, Dublin and London actor John Fawcett (d. 1793) and his wife Sarah Plaw. His interest in following his father's career were thwarted by the latter, who sent him to St Paul's School in 1776, then placed him in a London apprenticeship with a linen draper, but young John ran away at the age of eighteen and joined Charles Mates' theatrical company at Margate. Appearing under the name of Foote, he debuted as Courtall in ''The Belle's Stratagem''. He then went to Tunbridge Wells, billed under his own name, and was recommended to Tate Wilkinson, whose York company Fawcett then joined, first appearing 24 May 1787. Alongside Graeme Manson, he co-created and is a director for the award-winning BBC America television series ''Orphan Black''. Career Fawcett began his career making commercials before moving on to direct music videos for bands including Cowboy Junkies, Lori Yates, and Jeff Healey. He then directed two award-winning short films ''Half Nelson'' in 1991 and ''Scratch Ticket'' in 1994. In 1996, he debuted his first feature film ''The Boys Club''.
