John Farrington (footballer)
John Robert Farrington (born 19 June 1947) is an English former professional footballer who played as a right winger. Career Born in Lynemouth, Farrington played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City, Cardiff City and Northampton Town, making over 400 appearances in the Football League. He was part of the Leicester side that won the 1971 FA Charity Shield. John Farrington (athlete)
John Allan Farrington (born 2 July 1942) is a former long-distance runner from Australia, who represented his native country in the men's marathon at the 1968 Summer Olympics. There he finished in 43rd position, clocking 2:50:16.8. He came in fifth in the same event at the 1974 Commonwealth Games. Farrington claimed four national titles in the marathon (1969, 1970, 1974, and 1975). His PR in the marathon came at the 1973 New South Wales Championships in which he ran 2:11:12.6, which was the fastest marathon in the world that year. In the 1972 Fukuoka Marathon, he finished in second place behind Frank Shorter with a 2:12:00.4 performance. John Farrington (MP)
John Farrington (c.1609 – 1680) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons at various times between 1660 and 1680. Farrington was the son of Thomas Farrington of Chichester and his wife Dorothy Payne, daughter of Henry Payne of Chichester. His father was mayor of Chichester four times. He matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford on 30 June 1626, aged 17. In 1633 he was a student of Gray's Inn. He was involved in an attempt to rescue three Royalists in the city in 1647. He succeeded his father in 1654. In 1660, he was elected Member of Parliament for Chichester for the Convention Parliament when he was involved in a double return but was seated on the merits of the election. He was a J.P. for Sussex from July 1660 to 1680 and commissioner for sewers for West Sussex in October 1660. The Massachusetts General Court (formally styled the General Court of Massachusetts) is the state legislature of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The name "General Court" is a hold-over from the earliest days of the Massachusetts Bay Colony, when the colonial assembly, in addition to making laws, sat as a judicial court of appeals. Before the adoption of the state constitution in 1780, it was called the ''Great and General Court'', but the official title was shortened by John Adams, author of the state constitution. It is a bicameral body. The upper house is the Massachusetts Senate which is composed of 40 members. The lower body, the Massachusetts House of Representatives, has 160 members. John R. "Bo" Farrington (January 18, 1936 – July 27, 1964) was an American football player for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). He attended Prairie View A&M University. Farrington made history with Bill Wade when (in Wade's first start as quarterback) he received a 98-yard touchdown pass on October 8, 1961.
