John F. Petit
John Frank Petit (September 29, 1887–April 9, 1963) was an American politician and businessman. Petit was born in Sugar Grove, Illinois. He was involved with the insurance and real estate business. Petit was also involved with the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party. He served as the postmaster for Mooseheart, Illinois during the administration of President Woodrow Wilson. Petit lived in Batavia, Illinois. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1928 to 1939. He died at his home in Carpentersville, Illinois from a long illness. Sugar Grove is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population at the 2010 census was 8,997, and in 2018 the estimated population was 9,803. Geography Sugar Grove is located in southern Kane County at (41.772529, -88.442374). It is bordered to the east by the city of Aurora and to the west by the village of Big Rock. Sugar Grove nearly encircles the unincorporated community of Prestbury, and the city of Yorkville is to the south. Downtown Chicago is to the east. According to the 2010 census, Sugar Grove has a total area of , of which (or 99.86%) are land and (or 0.14%) are water. Sugar Grove is located within a band of heavy growth on the western edge of the Chicago metropolitan area, stretching from approximately the Huntley area in McHenry County to the New Lenox area in Will County. Mooseheart, Illinois
Mooseheart, located in Kane County, Illinois, is an unincorporated community and a home for children administered by the Loyal Order of Moose. Also known as the City of Children, the community is featured as a 1949 episode of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's short film series ''Passing Parade'', which was written and narrated by John Nesbitt. In 2013, Mooseheart celebrated its 100th anniversary with a rededication ceremony, public tours, fireworks, and other festivities. Like Moose Lodges, Mooseheart was originally only open to Caucasians. The facility was created to be a home for the widows and the children of members of the Loyal Order of Moose. Later, any child who had a family member who was a member of the Moose could be admitted. Woodrow Wilson
Thomas Woodrow Wilson (December 28, 1856February 3, 1924) was an American politician and academic who served as the 28th president of the United States from 1913 to 1921.
