John E. Walsh
John Edward Walsh (April 14, 1958 – November 20, 2023) was an American political consultant and campaign manager who managed Deval Patrick's successful 2006 Massachusetts gubernatorial run and Ed Markey's successful 2020 United States Senate reelection campaign. He was chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party from 2007 to 2013 and, from 2020 to 2023, was Markey's chief of staff. Early life Walsh was born on April 14, 1958, in Brockton Hospital, and grew up in Abington, Massachusetts. He was the second of three siblings born to Irish immigrants John and Peggy Predenville Walsh. Massachusetts Democratic Party
The Massachusetts Democratic Party (MassDems) is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is chaired by Gus Bickford. It is currently the dominant party in the state, controlling all nine of Massachusetts' U.S. House seats, both U.S. Senate seats, and has supermajorities in both houses of the state legislature. The 2010 United States Senate special election in Massachusetts was a special election held on January 19, 2010, in order to fill the Massachusetts Class I United States Senate seat for the remainder of the term ending January 3, 2013. Martha Mary Coakley (born July 14, 1953) is an American lobbyist and lawyer who served as Attorney General of Massachusetts from 2007 to 2015.
