John Dunne (basketball)
John Dunne (born June 11, 1970) is an American college basketball coach and current head men's basketball coach at Marist College. He was previously an assistant coach at Adelphi University under Steve Clifford and at Seton Hall University under Louis Orr. He also served as an assistant coach at Siena College. Dunne was born in Queens, New York and attended Archbishop Molloy High School, where he also played basketball. He played at the collegiate level at Ithaca College. Dunne was hired by Saint Peter's University as their men's basketball coach in 2006. While at Saint Peter's, he became the first coach in MAAC history to bring a No. 9 seed to the semifinals of the 2018 MAAC men's basketball tournament, MAAC tournament, when Saint Peter's University beat No. 1 seeded Rider University 66–55 on March 2, 2018. 2018 MAAC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was held from March 1–5, 2018 at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. No. 4 seed Iona defeated No. 6 seed Fairfield in the championship game to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. This was Iona's third consecutive MAAC tournament championship, while also being their MAAC-record leading sixth straight championship game appearance. Archbishop Molloy High School (also called Molloy, Archbishop Molloy, or AMHS) is a co-educational, college preparatory, Catholic school for grades 9-12, located on on 83-53 Manton Street, Briarwood, Queens, New York. Louis Orr
Louis McLaughlin Orr (May 7, 1958 – December 15, 2022) was an American basketball player and coach. He played professionally in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and became a college basketball coach. Orr was the head coach at Bowling Green State University from 2007–2014 and at Seton Hall from 2001 until 2006. He was formerly an assistant at Xavier University, Providence College and his alma mater Syracuse University, before getting his first head coaching job at Siena College.
